Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what Chatuw collects, how the information is used, and what choices users have when using anonymous 1-on-1 chat.

Last updated: June 1, 2026

Information you provide

Chatuw may collect the nickname, age, gender, selected country, selected region, messages, blocks, reports, and images you choose to send. You should not share sensitive personal information in anonymous chats.

How information is used

Chatuw uses information to create anonymous chat sessions, show users in the people list, deliver private 1-on-1 messages, apply chat preferences, prevent spam, respond to reports, improve safety, troubleshoot errors, and operate the service.

Location information

The app can request browser location permission to help select country and region. The service is designed to use country and region for chat context, safety, and abuse prevention. Exact GPS coordinates should not be shared in chat and are not needed for normal public profile display.

Messages, images, blocks, and reports

Private messages and images may be processed to deliver conversations and enforce safety rules. Blocks and reports may be stored so Chatuw can prevent repeated unwanted contact, investigate abuse, limit spam, and respond to safety concerns.

Cookies and local storage

Chatuw may use cookies, local storage, or session storage for theme preferences, anonymous sessions, abuse prevention, security checks, and advertising measurement.

Advertising and analytics

Chatuw may display ads or use analytics tools. Advertising and analytics partners may use cookies, device information, IP address, browser information, page views, and similar signals to serve ads, measure performance, prevent fraud, and understand site usage. Users can manage cookies through their browser settings.

Data retention

Anonymous chat data may be kept only as long as needed to operate the service, maintain safety controls, handle reports, comply with legal obligations, and protect against abuse. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of data and the seriousness of a safety or moderation issue.

Security

Chatuw uses practical security measures to protect the service, but no website or chat system can guarantee complete security. Users should avoid sending passwords, financial information, government IDs, addresses, phone numbers, or private personal details in chat.

Children

Chatuw is intended for adults and should not be used by anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the service or has submitted personal information, contact Chatuw so the issue can be reviewed.

Your choices

You can leave a chat, block another user, avoid sharing optional information, decline browser location permission, clear local browser storage, or contact Chatuw with privacy questions. Some features may work less accurately if location or storage is disabled.

Contact

Privacy questions can be sent through the contact page or by emailing chatuw.com@protonmail.com.
